42. Lessons from a Parent’s Sudden Death: Diana was 19 when faced with the ensuing responsibility

In this episode, we hear from a young university student named Diana. Diana shares her experience with the sudden death of her father, John, when she was just 19 years old. She walks us through her story of loss, from the first overwhelming days of the “after,” to where she stands today, nearly two and a half years onward. In the wake of his passing, Diana shares what she has learned about forgiveness, friendship, the strength that can stem from community, and ultimately, herself. Hailing from the West Coast of the United States, Diana attends college with the goal of becoming a pediatric trauma nurse. One day, she plans to put her skills to use helping youth on the frontlines of the global refugee crisis. She loves all things outdoors, and is still inspired today by her father’s resilient spirit, and quiet, loving nature. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/deathdialogues/message
